Bangkok, December 30: Korea’s Sangpil Yoon moved to the top of the leaderboard after carding a six-under-par 66 for a one-shot advantage over Dino A. Giacomazzi of the United States at the Qualifying School Section A at the Windsor Park Golf Club on Friday.
Having started his round tied for second, the Korean mixed his card with eight birdies and two bogeys to take pole position with his three-day total of 13-under-par 203.
Yoon is poised to extend his run at Qualifying School as only the leading 12 players and ties at the end of four rounds will qualify for the all-important Final Stage from January 11 to 14.
Over at the Suvarnabhumi Golf and Country Club, Australia’s Jack Wilson and Fiji’s Sam Lee posted a 67 and 68 respectively to share the lead with their 202 total after three days.
Players from Suvarnabhumi must finish inside the top-22 and ties on Saturday to qualify for the Final Stage.
