Japan, March 17: Liang Wen-chong of China produced a final round three-under-par 68 to win the Token Homemate Cup for his second title on the Japan Golf Tour on Sunday.
Liang, a former Asian Tour number one, fired five birdies against two bogeys to win the event staged at the Token Tado Country Club.
He totalled 16-under-par 168 to win by two shots over Japan’s Yoshinori Fujimoto. Juvic Pagunsan of the Philippines, the 2011 Order of Merit champion, ended his campaign in third place on a 271 total.
Liang’s victory will put him in good stead as he challenges for a second straight win at the Panasonic OPEN Japan which is sanctioned by the Asian Tour and Japan Golf Tour this week.
At the Trophee Hassan II, Carlos Pigem of Spain posted a one-under-par 72 to finish in tied eighth place on a four-under-par 288 total in the event which was won by Edoardo Molinari of Italy.
