ADT: Ciputra Golfpreneur Tournament returns with bigger prize purse

IMG_5884Jakarta, Indonesia, July 31: The Ciputra Golfpreneur Tournament presented by Panasonic will return to the Asian Development Tour (ADT) schedule for its fourth edition with a bigger prize purse.

To be played at the BSD Course by Damai Indah Golf from August 23-26, the total purse will be US$110,000 which is a 10% increase from previous editions.

The Ciputra Golfpreneur Tournament will be the 10th leg of the 2017 ADT season and the first to be played in Indonesia this year.

A total of 144 players will compete in the Ciputra Golfpreneur Tournament, with the field being split between the ADT and the Professional Golf Tour of Indonesia.

IMG_5893The Ciputra Golfpreneur Tournament will play a pivotal role in determining the Order of Merit rankings, where only the top five players on the final 2017 Order of Merit will earn a coveted Asian Tour card for 2018.

Last year’s champion Oscar Zetterwall of Sweden took home the winner’s cheque of US$17,500, which helped put him in third place on the 2016 Order of Merit and earned him a prized Tour cardfor the region’s premier golf circuit.

Previous winners of the ADT event included Michael Tran (2015) of Vietnam and James Byrne (2014) of Scotland.

By featuring on the ADT schedule, the Ciputra Golfpreneur Tournament will offer Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points. The winner will receive six OWGR points while the top six players and ties will also earn points based on a sliding scale.
