The 2014 Asian Tour Order of Merit champion opened his accounts at the year’s final Major championship with a 72 but traded four bogeys against two birdies at the Quail Hollow Club on the second day to head into the weekend rounds with a two-day total of three-over-par 145.
Korea’s K.T. Kim was three-over through 14 holes when play was suspended while compatriot Jeunghun Wang struggled to a 75.
Australia’s Scott Hend is in danger of missing the cut as he was at six-over with four holes left to play while Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee will make the early exit after posting rounds of 80 and 73.
