Charlotte, NC, US, Aug 14: Anirban Lahiri ended his campaign in the year’s final Major with a disappointing seven-over-par 78 at the PGA Championship on Sunday.
He had nine bogeys and two birdies on the last day which saw him finish 15-over-par 299 in 75th place at Quail Hollow. Korea’s K.T. Kim finished three shots better for a share of 67th place.
“Well I was beaten by Quail Hollow and hopefully I can come back and make it up,” said Lahiri. “Well my driving this week was great and I found a lot of fairways except on last day, when nothing worked and it kept slipping away. But putting and chipping were a major let down.”
“I can’t remember when I had so many bogeys in a single round, at least in my professional career,” Lahiri lamented.
Justin Thomas, a two-time CIMB Classic winner, grabbed his first Major with a round of 68 despite a closing bogey.
