August 28: Australia’s Wade Ormsby closed with three-under-par 69 to finish tied-sixth at the Made In Denmark tournament on Sunday.
The one-time Asian Tour winner got off to a great start when he birdied the third hole followed by an eagle on the next par-five four. Ormsby then dropped a shot on the sixth hole before reaching the turn in 33.
The Australian bogeyed again on 12 but finished strongly with six straight pars to sign off with a four-day total of 12-under-par 272. Like Ormsby, India’s S.S.P. Chawrasia also posted a final round 69 but would finish tied-19th having carded previous rounds of 67, 68 and 71.
The six-time Asian Tour winner stormed off the blocks quickly with four consecutive birdies starting from the second hole.
He continued his charge after the turn with another birdie on 11 but could not sustain his birdie run as he dropped three shots on holes 12, 16 and 18 to end his Danish campaign with a 275 total.
2014 Asian Tour Order of Merit champion David Lipsky of the United States took a share of 23rd place after signing for a 70 while Spain’s Carlos Pigem finished tied for 49th following a 70.
Korea’s Soomin Lee posted his fourth consecutive 71 to end the week in tied-64th place at the European Tour event which was won by Julian Suri of the United States.
