5 things we learnt at the #YeangderTPC

October 9: Here’s five interesting takeaways from the Yeangder Tournament Players Championship (TPC) which concluded in Chinese Taipei on Sunday.

1Ajeetesh Sandhu, the 2017 Yeangder TPC winner, turns 29 today! The talented Indian gave himself the perfect birthday present by winning his maiden Asian Tour title at the Linkou International Golf and Country Club on Sunday.

2Sandhu hails from Chandigarh, the same city as one of his country’s most decorated players, Jeev Milkha Singh.

3Birdie routine? Veerman and his father, who was on his bag last week, celebrated every birdie with a handshake on the course.

4After hitting their tee shots on the 18th, Veerman told Sandhu: “Good drive man but you better birdie this hole because I’m going to eagle it.” Veerman’s eagle chip actually hit the flag! The duo looked at each other and laughed. “It was great fun playing with him,” Sandhu said.

5The Yeangder TPC is the second Asian Tour event sponsored by the Yeangder Group in Chinese Taipei this season. Shiv Kapur won the first tournament (Yeangder Heritage) in April and Sandhu, with his victory at the Yeangder TPC, completed a clean sweep for Indian golfers in both the Yeangder sponsored tournaments on the schedule.
