Wang stays in the hunt in Dubai

January 27: Korea’s Jeunghun Wang, a one-time winner on the Asian Tour, carded a six-under-par 66 to trail Welsh leader Jamie Donaldson by four shots at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic on Friday.

The Korean will head into the weekend rounds in tied-eighth place with his two-day total of nine-under-par 135 at the European Tour event.

Asian Tour Order of Merit champions David Lipsky (2015) and Scott Hend (2016) are bunched in tied-29th place that also includes recent winner Shubhankar Sharma of India.

Malaysia’s Gavin Green improved on his opening 70 with a 68 to share 37th place while Thailand’s Phachara Khongwatmai returned with a 71 for tied-55th place.

China’s Li Haotong, who starred at the recent EurAsia Cup, continued his good run by taking outright second place after consecutive rounds of 66.
