Hua Hin, Thailand, March 17: Thailand’s Prayad Marksaeng will be hoping for a strong finish at next week’s Black Mountain Masters as a good performance at the Black Mountain Golf Club will secure him a top-50 place on the world golf ranking and also a place in the US Masters next month.
The six-time Asian Tour winner, who ended last week’s campaign at the WGC-CA Championship in tied-13th place is currently ranked 51st
in the world.
But he knows that he has every opportunity to keep up the chase for his second appearance at the year’s first major at home now.
Prayad was invited to the Masters last year but was forced to withdraw in the second round with injury.
Meanwhile, reigning Asia’s number one, Jeev Milkha Singh of India moved up to 29th on the world ranking after enjoying a fourth place finish in Doral.
The talented Indian will be looking forward to maintaining his good form in the US and put Asia on the world map again with another standout performance at the Masters next month.
