Fresh from his maiden Open debut, Bhullar finally earned his well deserved breakthrough at the Indonesia President Invitational last week. The young Indian has already been coming close to victory several times this season and his maiden win has now justified his reputation as one of the brightest young talent on the Asian Tour. Bhullar will now be hoping to ride on his rich vein of form to seek a back-to-back victory in Brunei this week.
Thaworn Wiratchant (Tha)
Thaworn is enjoying a welcome return to form after struggling in this first half of the season where his best result was a 14th placed finish at the Sail Open. The 42-year-old won a career 10th victory on the Asian Tour in 2008 which made him the first player to hit the milestone which was later matched by fellow compatriot Thongchai Jaidee. ing to extend his winning record starting with another victory this week.
Ted Oh (Kor)
The California-based Korean came agonizingly close to his maiden triumph on the Asian Tour when he lost to fellow compatriot Bae Sang-moon in a play-off at the GS Caltex Maekyung Open. Oh will be seeking to redeem himself with another performance worthy of landing him the prized victory this time.
Noh Seung-yul (Kor)
The Korean teenager has been labelled the future of golf in Korea after a string of stellar performances on the Asian Tour including his maiden win at the Midea China Classic last season The 2008 Rookie of the Year award possesses one of the best swings and he looks likely to contend for his second win in his young illustrious career this week.
Adam Blyth (Aus)
Blyth is enjoying a good run of form after finishing in tied-second at the Indonesia President Invitational. He was pipped to the title by two shots by India’s Gaganjeet Bhullar and will be hoping to better his performance with another assured performance at The Empire Hotel and Country Club. Apart from Indonesia, the Australian has already registered top-10s at the Maybank Malaysian Open and Johnnie Walker Classic this year. He has trained hard during the summer break to end his title drought and a maiden title in Brunei could be the ultimate reward for his hard work this week.
