  WHAT THEY SAID

Gaurav Ghei (Ind)

I hit a few good shots and putted well today so that was a big thing. I played pretty solid golf, made six birdies and actually missed birdies on five and six which are really easy holes. On five, I hit my drive into the trees so I didn't really have a chance. On six, I got a really good second shot but my pitch went over the green and from there it was a really tough up and down so I have no complaints. I just holed the putts today at the right time to keep the momentum going and it worked for me.

The course is good, the greens are playing firm and fast and the fairways are not picking up any mud after the rain. The course is tricky and you can't take a breather even for a moment because it will come back and bite you. This is just one of those courses where you put your head down and keep playing.

It was just the putts dropping. I holed a couple of good birdies today like on the 13th  and 14th where I holed a 20 footer putt and they were really tough and fast putts. Other than that I also hit a few good iron shots. On the 11th, I hit it to about four feet and on number one and three to about 10 feet. So it was some pretty solid putting and I gave myself some opportunities. I didn't really think about the score and just tried to play one hole at a time.

It has been a tough year, I had a problem with my wrist in the beginning of the year and I had tendonitis in my right wrist which slowed me down and I couldn't practice as much as I wanted to.

My father passed away a couple of months back so it has been a year that really hasn't gone as plan but that's the way it is and you have to figure it out and get yourself back on track.

I hope things fall in place and like I said I didn't work much on my golf in the summer. I played golf at home but didn't see my coach or didn't really practice as much as I wanted to but hopefully things will turn around in the second half of the year.

Noh Seung-yul (Kor)

I had two consistent rounds because my iron shots are working well for me this week. The golf course is in great shape but the greens are rolling really fast. I like playing in Malaysia because it is almost the same like in other countries in Asia.

I three putted on hole 14th and on the 17th, my tee shot went to the right and ended up under the tree which caused my two bogeys.

I was able to recover with an eagle on the par five sixth when my bunker shot found the hole.

Overall, I am happy with my game but it is still too early to be excited about my standing on top of the leaderboard because it is only the second day.

Iain Steel (Mas)

I was half decent on my score card but I struggled midway through the round and couldn't get my ball in play and on the greens and in scoring positions to attack the holes for birdies. All in all, I knew I was going to have a bad round but I hope that I am over it. After the rain, the course softened up. I played the course during my practice round and it was quite bouncy and easy to score. I hope the wind picks up and dries the course up so they won't take it so deep and the condition will suit me.

Kiradech Aphibarnrat (Mas)

I'm still happy with my game even though I suffered a couple of mistakes today. On the 18th hole I was aiming for the right of the fairway but it went into the water hazard. I'm a really quick player even when I was an amateur. My coach and dad asked me to slow down on my game but playing fast is my style and I will continue to do that.

I'm going to keep it going the next two days. On the back nine my approach and my irons were not playing well. I missed four greens and missed two holes with driver but luckily I managed to save many shots today.

Everything is good this week and I will keep trying this two days.

James Kamte (Mas)

After my first tee shot which I hit to about a foot on the first hole, I went on to three-putt from eight feet on the next and missed a foot putt for par. My putting was horrible. I kept hitting good shots but my putting let me down today. But it is a good thing I hit it close today on the 15th and 16th holes to two feet for birdies.

The rest of the day was pretty good but only my putting let me down. It was frustrating with the par 5s when I made pars so that's about six to four shots I threw away. It is still a good thing as I am still in the hunt and one shot behind.

I haven't had my chances yet but hopefully one of the two days I will start holing putts and it will be my turn to move up and shoot better scores. Right now he (Kiradech) has the advantage as he made a lot of putts.

He is pretty aggressive and hits the ball pretty well and never backs off and around this golf course u have to hit some really good shots and one bad shot will be very tough. It was a pity for him on the last hole when he made a double. He had to think more about it but he went for the tiger line and missed hit it and the ball went in the water.

I'm very happy with my position today. I played very well and my score was respectable on this course. Today I made some birdies and one eagle but also dropped shots.

My eagle came on the sixth hole when my rescue shot went on the green to 20 feet. It is an honour to be on top with Siva as this is our home course and we are the touring pros here. This is a tough tournament to play in and I will go out tomorrow to do my best.
