Jeju Island, Korea, April 22: The opening round of the Ballantine’s Championship has been suspended due to heavy fog and will resume at 2.40pm local time on Thursday.

Morning play at the Pinx Golf Club was suspended since 9.30am local time and players from the afternoon season are now scheduled to tee off at least two-and-a-half hours later than their original tee times.

The early starters only managed to play through six holes with England’s Mark Foster atop of the leaderboard at four-under-par at the €2.2 million (approximately US$2.9 million) showpiece that is sanctioned by the Asian Tour, European Tour and the Korea PGA.

Singapore’s Mardan Mamat opened strongly with three birdies in his opening three holes to stay one shot behind Foster together with Australia’s Marcus Fraser and Spain’s Pablo Larrazabal at three-under-par.
