Bryan produced one of the most memorable victories in 2007 when he won the inaugural Johnnie Walker Cambodian Open. The colourful Californian held off Australian Adam Groom for the title and celebrated his maiden Asian Tour triumph by jumping into the lake near the 18th green and dedicating the win to legendary rock band Grateful Dead. He credited his breakthrough victory to a new GEL putter picked up earlier in the week. He needed a new one as he had tossed his putter into the lake after missing the cut by one shot at the previous week’s stop in Vietnam. With his winnings, he rewarded his local caddie with a new motorbike while he also brought a new “tuk tuk” (passenger bike) for his Cambodian driver. Prior to his win, Bryan produced top-20s at the Philippine Open and Hero Honda Indian Open. He was unable emulate his success in 2008 when he ended the season without any top-10 finishes, partly due to a back injury. He enjoyed a slightly better season in 2009 where he claimed a tied ninth place at the Johnnie Walker Cambodian Open but it was not enough to keep his place in Asia after finishing outside the top-65 on the Order of Merit. In 2006, Bryan finished second behind Korea's Suk Jong-yul in the GS Caltex Maekyung Open in Korea. In the following week, he enjoyed another career high as he played alongside female teenage prodigy Michelle Wie in the SK Telecom Open in Korea. Made it to the top-five at the Mercuries Taiwan Masters and finished in the top-20 at the UBS Hong Kong Open. Made his debut on the Asian Tour in 2004. Missed only two cuts all year and enjoyed a good run of tournaments by finishing 10th in the Sanya Open, tied 11th at the Carlsberg Masters Vietnam and equal 11th in the Hong Kong Open, which was joint-sanctioned with the European Tour. In 2005, he finished joint third in the Thailand Open and tied fourth in the Philippine Open. Has won 22 times on the mini tours in the United States. Played on the Canadian Tour from 2001 till end of 2003. Won the Costa Mason City Amateur, an event won previously by Scott Simpson and Mark O'Meara.

Began his involvement in golf at the age of 10. Started hitting with a baseball bat as he was a baseball junkie. Seeing the golf ball fly twice as far got him interested in golf. Have been to no fewer than 150 Grateful Dead concerts. Said he had a "religious experience" at their concert in Las Vegas in 1993 and was granted a wish. ...

Have been to no fewer than 150 Grateful Dead concerts. Said he had a "religious experience" at their concert in Las Vegas in 1993 and was granted a wish. And he wished that "I would win the US Masters one day!" Has a unique but trusty self-taught golf swing.
