The Resorts World Manila Masters was staged at the par-72 Manila Southwoods Masters course, which was one of the first championship golf courses designed by golf legend Jack Nicklaus in the Philippines.

The Manila Southwoods Masters and Legends courses were designed especially for tournament play. With its amazing landscape and tranquil ambience, Manila Southwoods attracts golfers from not only in the Philippines but also from all around the world.

Both the courses have hosted major tournaments such as the 1993, 1994, 1996 and 1999 Philippine Opens; The 1996 and 1997 Mitsubishi-Southwoods Open; The 1996 World Amateur Golf Team Championships and the 1999 Kosaido Ladies Open.
