Singapore, October 18: In this latest segment of 3 on 3, asiantour.com talks to Korea’s Baek Seuk-hyun, Thailand’s Prom Meesawat and Asian Tour Order of Merit leader, Kiradech Aphibarnrat of Thailand about the 2014 EurAsia Cup presented by DRB-HICOM and reflections on their season so far.
What does the EurAsia Cup presented by DRB-HICOM and trying to make the inaugural team mean to you?
Baek Seuk-hyun (BSH): I think it will be a good experience for me. We will go up against the Europeans and I can see where my game stands against them. I really want to play in this tournament.
Prom Meesawat (PM): It will be an honour to play in the Asian Team and represent Asia. I think it will be a very good fun for the fans.
Kiradech Aphibarnrat (KA): This will be a good event. I think it is very fair how the players are selected to represent the team. Players who do well automatically get a spot in the team and this is a very good selection process. It will be different compared to playing in a normal tournament because you are playing for the team and not for yourself.
If you can play one more round of golf, where would it be and why?
BSH: I would like to play at Amata Spring Country Club. I think it is a very fair golf course but I never played good there! I always miss the cut at the Thailand Golf Championship. I think I can play good golf there but I just need to stop thinking too much.
PM: I would love to play at Torrey Pines again in the United States because that was where I won the Junior World title. It is such a nice course and I love playing there.
KA: I would love to play at the Firestone Country Club again. I played there earlier this year at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and finished tied 40th. I really like the golf courses in the United States and it will be great if I can play at Firestone again.
How do you think your season has gone so far and what else do you want to achieve?
BSH: I want to win one Asian Tour tournament and give myself a chance to qualify for the EurAsia Cup presented by DRB-HICOM.
PM: I’m still aiming to win my second Asian Tour title! That has been my goal for a very long time.
KA: I’m very happy with my results this year but my main goal is to break into the top-50 in the world.
Ends.
