Singapore, October 25: In this latest segment of 3 on 3, asiantour.com talks to Thailand’s Gunn Charoenkul and Arnond Vongvanij, as well as Shiv Kapur of India about the 2014 EurAsia Cup presented by DRB-HICOM and reflections on their season so far.
What does the EurAsia Cup presented by DRB-HICOM and trying to make the inaugural team mean to you?
Gunn Charoenkul (GC): It will be an honour to represent Asia. It is a great opportunity for young players like myself to play against the elite players from the European Tour. It is a great chance for us to improve our games and I hope we can win.
Arnond Vongvanij (AV): If you can make the team, then you are technically one of the best players in Asia. I really want to make the team. That will be a good goal to achieve and a great accomplishment for me if I can make it.
Shiv Kapur (SK): I would love to represent Asia. There are so many good players in Asia and it is great that we are now in a position to take on the European players and not get our butts kicked. It would mean a lot to me if I can be part of the elite Asian team.
If you can play one more round of golf, where would it be and why?
GC: I would like to play at the Haesley Nine Bridges Golf Club again. Everything is perfect there!
AV: I like playing at the Amata Spring Country Club. I wished I didn’t get injured last year during the Thailand Golf Championship.
SK: I would like to play at Muirfield again. It is quite a nice golf course and if I could replay one more round, it will be the Saturday at The Open Championship!
How do you think your season has gone so far and what else do you want to achieve?
GC: I hope to finish inside the top-30 on the Order of Merit because I want to play in the Omega European Masters in Switzerland.
AV: I just want to play well again and get another Asian Tour win.
SK: The Hero Indian Open is one of the events on my highest priority to win. Obviously the next goal is to qualify for the EurAsia Cup presented by DRB-HICOM.
Ends.
