Marcus Both (Aus) – Final Round 70 (-2), Total 282 (-6)
I did such an unbelievable job this week of staying patient. When I made a mistake, I didn’t get too upset. Words can’t describe how it feels from being an invite to a winner this week. I have to thank ICTSI and the Asian Tour for giving me the invite. To come away with the trophy is amazing. I’m a bit lost for words.
I didn’t drive the ball too well yesterday and today. I putted nicely all week. I’ve been working so hard. I made a bunch of changes to my game and even my equipment. I didn’t change brands, just the specs in my golf equipment. I started playing well as soon as I changed my equipment five weeks ago.
I lost my Asian Tour card for the first time last year and that was an emotional year on and off the golf course. It is nice to see that you do get rewarded for your hard work. This is massive for me. It was so bad at the end of last year that I even thought of quitting the game. I had to return to Qualifying School earlier this year and missed the cut by one shot. That’s when you start to think how much can a guy take all these in?
My family support has been great. I’ve got a great support network around me and that’s the main thing. I started on a new fitness programme and it seems a bit insignificant but that 1% all adds up.

The golf course is fantastic and the greens are by far the best I’ve ever seen it. The fairways were great here as well. If you can get the ball on the fairway then you can give yourself a chance to attack the greens.
I didn’t let off in the last two holes. I gave it full commitments there. I hit two lovely shots on 18 and I saw that I had a bit of buffer. Strange things have happen in golf and I’ve seen people hole second shots on the last to win. You just hope that it doesn’t happen to you. I only knew it was over when everyone had finish.
I hit my putt on 15th a bit too hard but it went in (20 feet)! I gave it a bit more speed than what I had intended too. Then I hit one of my best swings (four iron) on 16 and the wind died when I needed it too. The other guys made some nice putts and I kept on pressing.
Siddikur Rahman (Ban) – Final Round 69 (-3), Total 284 (-4)
I’m very happy with my round because it was bogey-free. I’m not happy with my putting but I still managed to escape the errors. I’m still happy with my game.
My long game has always been there but my short game hasn’t been up to my standard so far. Hopefully I can improve on my short game soon.
I was confident I could win this event but I didn’t putt too well on the second and third day. This is part of golf. This course is very challenging and you can mess up on any hole. I think it is a good week for me.
I think I’m hitting it very well. If I can get my putter hot then I will get another good result. I’ll be going for the U.S. Open Qualifying. I have good memory when I played on the same golf course in 2012. I’m really looking forward to it because it is my dream to play in the U.S. Open.

I’ll take this score any day! My first under-par round for the week. I made a lot of putts today and my score should have been lower. I’ll still take this score.
I wanted to get more experience this week so that I can play better in future Asian Tour tournaments. I’ve gained a lot of experience in these last few weeks. I played on long courses in Malaysia and Indonesia and this week I needed to plan my shots.
I’m glad that I can play on different type of golf courses now. You have to give yourself chances in every tournament you play in. You never know when the win will come so you have to play your best.
I’ll be playing in a local tournament next week. After that I’ll work on my game in Black Mountain.

I didn’t play too bad but I missed a lot of putts inside of 10 feet. It is just something that I need to learn from. I played well in Indonesia, Singapore and played well here. I just need to stay patient and not force the issue. From missing the cut last year and finishing top-10 is a big improvement. Maybe next year I will get the win.
Anirban Lahiri (Ind) – Final Round 70 (-2), Total 290 (+2)
I’m disappointed with how I played. I’ve been playing well but I don’t think I played that badly this week. I made a lot of mental errors and big numbers. You can’t make four double bogeys and three triple bogeys in a tournament. At least I tried to fight back and played well.
Overall it was a little bit disappointing. Now I will play Queen’s Cup in Koh Samui and that is one of my favourite courses. I like the place and enjoy the golf course. It is a tough course. There are a lot of holes where you have to know how to play. Now that I’ve played there four or fives times, I’ve gotten more comfortable there. It suits me because it is a ball striking golf course. If you hit it good then it will reward you.
My golf bags will go into the store room for at least two weeks and I’m going to be fresh at Samui!
