Marcus Fraser (Aus) – Second Round 67 (-5), Total 136 (-8)
My game was pretty steady. I felt like I played pretty similar to what I did yesterday. I just had one poor drive on 17. That was a terrible golf shot and I made a bogey. Other than that it was steady all day. Hopefully I can keep building on the score I’m on and keep playing well. Making a few putts will be nice.
Kalem Richardson (Aus) – Second Round 68 (-4), Total 136 (-8)
I got off to a good start. I’ve been playing really well. It has been a mental battle in the last couple of months. I’ve been struggling a little bit with the game. It was nice to get through a couple of challenges today and stay in the moment. I’ve been getting carried away and that’s been costing me.
(On his injury) My left knee was inflamed and I’ve been getting a lot of treatment from the staff here and managing it myself. It is feeling a lot better and I’ve not had any dramas in the last few weeks.
I’m going to keep doing what I’ve been doing. If I can have another two of those, I’ll be close. I love this golf course. I played well last year. It will mean to do well here. I need a big week and I’m trying to do that. It has been a tough year for me so it will be nice to get a good result.
S. Chikkarangappa (Ind) – Second Round 67 (-5), Total 137 (-7)
I’ve been playing well. I’ve been playing solid throughout the year. I’m just looking for one solid week for myself and I think that’s on my way. I’m really confident with how I’m hitting the ball at the moment. My short game put me down a little bit because I haven’t been doing my homework. Now I need to work on that.
I’ve been winning on the Indian tour. I won once this year in India but I’ve been focussing on the Asian Development Tour (ADT) to get my world ranking points up. That’s how I got into the World Cup of Golf. My season has been good so far.
I’ve been going through positive weeks. It is not only this week. I’ve been following up on my solid performances and I’m really confident with how things are going. Hopefully I can do something this week.
It feels like a home tour this week. Anirban is here and we did some work on the range and helping each other. I have positive energy when he is around me because I get the best advice from him.
Tirawat Kaewsiribandit (Tha) – Second Round 68 (-4), Total 137 (-7)
I’m a bit disappointed with my finish. I was looking at the leaderboard and I thought that I can go up of the leaderboard. So I pushed myself harder on hole 18 and made bogey. I should have played my own game.
This is my second time playing at Royale Jakarta. I made cut last year but I didn’t have a good finish. I’m hitting my irons better now and I’m feeling more confident. I only drop one bogey after 36 holes so my game is good.
I’ve come close on the Asian Development Tour (ADT) but I’ve not won. This week I’m playing on a country exemption. I’m feeling confident with my game but I need to work hard because there are so many big name players here. I want to learn and gain more experience. That’s very important for me.
I’m 27 years old and I turned professional in 2014. I won one event in Thailand in June this year. That’s my only victory so far.
Anirban Lahiri (Ind) – Second Round 66 (-6), Total 141 (-3)
I need to come back with a better attitude and feeling more positive. Yesterday, I couldn’t get the putts to go in. That put me down and I was dragging my feet. I wasn’t really happy with how I approached my round mentally.
I was hoping to come out today and be a little bit more positive and aggressive. It was good to get off to a good start. I hit 14 greens yesterday and 16 today so it is not that I’m hitting it bad. I still feel like I left two or three shots back. Hopefully if I keep this up, I can give myself a shouting chance come Sunday.
I was awake early this morning because of jetlag and Netflix was my friend. I had a lot of time to think about yesterday’s round and how to come out and approach it. I’ve been working hard on my game but it has been inconsistent. I haven’t really been playing golf in the last five weeks
Sometimes it is more a guessing game. I don’t know how my body or game will respond. I’m happy with how it has progressed from yesterday to today. The course is quite accessible so there will be a lot of birdies during the weekend.
You can’t leave shots out there. You need to take all your opportunities because there are birdies to be made. Yesterday was a prime example of how you can get frustrated when you do that. You feel like you are dropping shots when you make par on some of these holes.
