Hua Hin, Thailand, January 22: Read what players have to say following the second round of the Asian Tour Qualifying School Final Stage presented by Sports Authority of Thailand on Thursday.

LEE Chieh-po (TPE) – Second Round 69 (-3), Total 136 (-7)
I actually thought I could play better today, having played well in the first stage at Imperial Lakeview last week. I am actually more confident playing at Lakeview compared to Springfield. I have been keeping to my own pace. I had aim to shoot for 67 before the start of the round today and I made it.
I didn’t play as well on the back nine today. I was feeling tired, probably because I’ve played a lot over the last two weeks. I didn’t sleep well last night too.
I thought I putted really well. I was able to control the greens well. The greens are really different I guess. One of my playing partners, Ryosuke Kinoshita of Japan, shot 65 at Springfield yesterday and then 75 at Lakeview today. I guess it’s important that you putt well out there.
I think the Imperial Lakeview is a golf course that suits my game a lot. I was not worried even though it was windy. I am used to the wind because it’s always windy when we play back home in Chinese Taipei.
There are a lot of good players out here. I thought I played well yesterday but I ended up in tied-13th position after the first round. I was kind of surprised. I don’t want to think so much for now. I have just turned professional this month and it’s my first time here. I will just play it like any other regular tournaments. I feel that I’ve done enough preparations before coming to the Qualifying School. My target is to top the class this week, rather than just finishing top 40 and ties to get my card.
Hopefully I can better my scores in the final two rounds.

Danthai BOONMA (THA) – Second Round 71 (-1), Total 136 (-7)
I thought it was much tougher today, given the windy conditions in the afternoon. The greens are slower here. I’m overall happy with how I played. It’s good to be in a good position heading into the next two rounds. I don’t want to give myself any pressure for now. I just want to keep doing what I’ve been doing.
Himmat RAI (IND) – Second Round 67 (-4), Total 137 (-6)
I hit it nicely today. I had a lot of birdies and I hit the ball really good. I played well yesterday too. I’m happy with the way I have played so far.
You have to keep your ball in play to score on these courses. The greens can be quite challenging on the front nine at Springfield Royal. You have to put the ball in the right positions because it’s fairly undulating. If you can keep the ball in play, you will have more scoring opportunities.
It got windy only coming to the last few holes. I teed off first group in the morning so there weren’t much wind which was an advantage for sure. It is definitely more challenging when it’s windy.
I’m happy to put myself in a good position heading into the next two rounds. I will just keep doing the same thing. I will stick to the same game plan and put the ball in play. The most important thing is to enjoy the game in the weekend rounds.
It hasn’t been great for me last season but I thought I was playing well towards the end of the season. I worked with my coach and my fitness trainer back home during the break, ensuring that I was doing the right things.
I was working on a bit of everything in my game. I didn’t hit too many greens last year so that will be my goal for this season. Putting has always been an advantage for me so that was what I have been working on.
I just want to enjoy myself and play my best this week.
Niclas JOHANSSON (SWE) – Second Round 70 (-1), Total 138 (-5)

I struggled a little bit today to be honest. I was trying to keep the ball in play. I putted well in the beginning but it got windy out there and it got tough. I made bogeys on 15 and 16 but was glad to recover with an eagle on the last. That helped a lot. I remember hitting a driver into the water on the last hole when I played the first stage last week. It was pretty much the same wind today so I decided to hit a three-wood and then a seven-iron to the fringe.
Every shot you make out there is important. There are no easy holes out there for sure. You have to stay focused and keep your ball in play. If you miss, you have to miss it on the right side. If not, it will be a tough chance. It’s a good test for sure. It has been great experience so far.
I had a good start to the week when I shot a 68 at Imperial Lakeview yesterday. I had a hole-in-one on the seventh as well which was nice. I was pretty off with the driver yesterday but somehow I managed to return with a good score.
It’s my first time here. Everybody has been so nice and I really like it here. I played on the Challenge Tour last year but didn’t keep the card. I thought I should just come and try it out here. I just want to try and see where I stand. The weather here is kind of similar to the golf I played when I was in college in the United States.
I just have to keep on doing what I’ve been doing for the next two days. Hopefully I can get my Asian Tour card for 2015. I’m looking forward to it and we will see how it goes.
Peter STOJANOVSKI (AUS) – Second Round 70 (-1), Total 140 (-3)
I hit the ball good. I started very well today but made a few bad decisions which cost me a few shots out there. I’m overall happy with how I’ve been doing so far. I putted well today. I played well yesterday at Imperial Lakeview too but I didn’t hole as many putts.
This is my first time at the Asian Tour Qualifying School. It has been a great experience I thought. I want to play on the Asian Tour because it is close to home. I have heard a lot of good things about the Tour and my friend, Yasin Ali, who has played here before, advised me to keep calm and just do my best.
I just want to stay focused and remain consistent for the next two rounds. I will just keep doing what I have been doing so far. Hopefully I can put myself in a better position tomorrow.
YOON Ho-bae (KOR) – Second Round 64 (-7), Total 140 (-3)
I putted nicely today. I hit good tee shots too and I think the pin positions are easier here. It’s my first time playing the Asian Tour Qualifying School. It has been a great experience so far. I’m happy to put myself in good position for the next two rounds.
Liu Yanwei of China Liu Yanwei of China
LIU Yan-wei (CHN) – Second Round 72 (Even-par), Total 142 (-1)
I played well actually but it was really windy at Imperial Lakeview this afternoon. I kind of struggled a bit. It was tougher than yesterday at Springfield Royal but I’m glad I made the cut. I feel a little bit stressed out because there are so many good players out here and everyone is vying to finish top 40 and ties. It’s only my first time here so I will tell myself to stay calm and not think too much. I will just continue to try and play my best in the next two rounds. We will see how it goes.
