Hua Hin, Thailand, January 24: Read what players have to say following the final round of the Asian Tour Qualifying School Final Stage presented by Sports Authority of Thailand on Saturday.
Daniel CHOPRA (SWE) – Final Round 68 (-3), Total 270 (-15)
It feels really wonderful to be back on Tour. It has been really tough out there. It was really demanding off the tee. I just used my experience when I got my first PGA Tour card many years back. I was reminded of how focused I was on the final round and that experience helped. I was in a good position this time round and I just tried to draw from that. I am very proud of how composed I was today.
I got a little quick with my game yesterday and fortunately my experience made me aware of that so I corrected that for today and I was able to keep my rhythm nice and smooth which gave me good confidence.
I am feeling more relieved now. It has been tough for me for the past few years. I just feel good that I belonged somewhere again. I’ve learnt and crafted my game in Asia and it’s a place I would always call home. All my friends are here and I am sure they are all very proud of me. I can’t wait to start playing out here again.
I was playing nicely although I missed a couple of putts. I stayed calm and I managed to hang in there towards the end. Now that I know I can win again, having defeated 200 over players out here, it just brings back a lot of good feelings from when I used to win back in the days.
I am more proud of the way I won. I played really solid to come down the stretch. I’m looking forward to the first few events and hopefully I can draw from my experience this week as well.
Kalle SAMOOJA (FIN) - Final Round 65 (-6), Total 274 (-11)
I have been playing well. It's still the same game plan for me today. I started off well so I had a number in my mind that I want to shoot for. I ended up shooting one shot lower than what I aimed for so I am very happy with how I played. I played solid from tee to green and I made some great putts today.
I haven't played any professional tournaments for almost two months prior to coming here. I just want to practise more and build up the confidence coming here. I have been playing well since coming through the first stage. I know I just need to play my own game.
I enjoyed playing on the Asian Tour. It was a lot of fun and I love the courses out here and I am glad to be back again.
Phiphatphong NAEWSUK (THA) – Final Round 67 (-4), Total 275 (-10)
I played very well today. Everything was good for me out there. Winning the Asian Development Tour's  Boonchu Ruangkit Championship earlier this month was a great boost of confidence for me. I have been playing well since then. I am really happy to get my card and I look forward to playing on the Asian Tour.
Chikka S (IND) – Final Round 68 (-3), Total 276 (-9)
This means a lot to me. I really worked hard to get this. It took me a year to come back again and finally get my Tour card. It has a tough week for me. Missing out last year was really emotional for me but it has made me a stronger person. A lot of things got better in my game over the past one year. My attitude towards the game changed as well. I am really happy I made it today.
I made some swing changes with my coach last year and I started working with my mental coach, Rahul Dravid, who was a legend in professional cricket in India. He gave me a lot of good advices and taught me a lot of things. I guess that was what really tuned my game. I learnt to be more calm and relaxed and I believe in myself more.
Yesterday was just one of the bad days I guess. I just tell myself to relax and just go out there and do my best. My target was just to hit as many greens as possible and try to get a bogey-free round. I've been playing really well last year. I had one win on the Asian Development Tour and three other wins on my local Tour. It has been really good for me. I just keep to that confidence.
Moving ahead, I will try and play everything I can on the Asian Tour and hopefully finish in top-60 at the end of the season to keep my card for the following year.
LEE Chieh-po (TPE) - Final Round 69 (-2), Total 277 (-8)
I’m playing in my first month as a professional. I can’t ask for more. I am very happy to earn my card this week and I’m excited to come out and play with the other good golfers out here.
