Thanyakon Khrongpha (Tha) – Second round 63 (-8), Total 130 (-12)
Everything in my game was good especially my ball striking. I hit a lot of shots for close range birdies. The longest birdie of the day was on the seventh hole from 30 feet. I’ve been playing in Japan quite often this year and you need to hit it straight there because the courses are very tight.
I enjoyed a good run after turning professional in 2010 but after that I didn’t do too well because I had no confidence in my swing. Mentally I was not strong enough. Then last year, I worked with Andrew Knott in Thailand and he has helped with my mental game and I’ve really improved under him.

It would have been nice to finish the round up and have some clarity on what we’re doing tomorrow. It is always easier when you got a bit of clarity on what you are doing.
I had a nice start. I hit a nice drive and a five iron to about 15 feet for eagle. I birdied the next two as well. It was nice to be four-under after three holes. I didn’t play quite solid after that but we’ll have to see if I can finish strongly tomorrow.
I always sleep during a rain delay. I can basically lie down anywhere in the clubhouse and fall asleep. I found a nice bed in the locker room and I was fast asleep!
The course is playing nicely. There was a bit of wind in the afternoon which made it trickier. As I play more rounds I get to know the course a little better.

The course is playing pretty easy. It wasn’t too hot and the wind wasn’t blowing. I hit a lot of fairways and I kept getting 130 to 135 metres into the pin and I probably made four birdies out of that. I continued on throughout the day so maybe I should try hitting at that distance more often!
I’ve had a busy schedule. I’ve been playing here and everywhere. But I’m looking to play on the Asian Tour until the end of the year and try to keep my card. Keeping my card is definitely on my mind and it is spurring me on a little bit. It is a good thought to have.
Anytime you shoot in the low 60s when you got something on the line is always good.

I started off pretty well and holed some putts which I haven’t been doing in the last couple of weeks. My back is better now after the Philippines. I’m starting to loosen out a bit so hopefully I can chase the boy up there on the leaderboard.
I don’t think too many fairways when I play golf. I’m the kind who smashes it and try to get the ball into the hole. I’m an old fashioned sort of player. I like to overpower some golf courses.
I had some loose shots coming in and I’m a bit lucky to make some par putts and saves. I hit it good on the first nine and not so good on the back so it even out. Now I’m in a nice position.
I had a nice eagle on the 13th hole. I hit my six iron to eight feet and holed that. An eagle at any time spurs your round. It has been a long time since I didn’t have a single bogey on the scorecard!
