Jyoti Randhawa (Ind) – Second Round 65 (-7), Total 133 (-11)
I played too good. This is the best I’ve played for a long, long time. I fired on all cylinders today. My driving, second shots and putting were good. I only had one missed putt and the rest were a great round of golf.
I’m more focused now and what I’ve been training in the year and a half is now falling into place. I got a tennis elbow and I rested it for two weeks. The rest has helped.
I wasn’t very sure where my game was even though I shot a 68 on the first day. Today I got my game together and I’m swinging good. I haven’t been in this position for a long time so I want to enjoy these two days.

Going into the next round, I just need to keep doing what I’ve been doing and we’ll see if it works out. Golf is a funny game and anything can happen. I’m just happy that I’m there for the fight.
The last two birdies were great. I had a sand wedge into 17 and it was a given birdie. I chipped close to the hole on 18 from the thick rough to give me the lead.

I’ve had some problems with my swing earlier and I struggled with my mental game. That was why I haven’t been playing well for some time. However, I managed to fix the problems now and I’m glad the efforts paid off today. I haven’t played well for a long time and I think it’s a similar case to what Prom Meesawat had gone through before.
I used to feel discouraged whenever I don’t play well but now, I just play my game and not think too much. My mental game is much stronger now. I feel like I’m ready to play well and my game is in good shape.
I am very happy with how I played today. It exceeded my expectations. I had expected to hit about 10 fairways but I hit 14 instead. Getting the ball on the fairways was an advantage for me. It makes it easier for me to score as well.
I hit the first shot with my driver to about 286 yards and then a three-wood to another 280 yards before sinking a 15-foot putt for eagle. I didn’t expect the ball to land on the green actually. I feel very excited to be in the lead right now but I will try not to give myself any pressure. I hope to continue my good form for the next two rounds and play without any pressure. The greens are very tricky and difficult. It’s hard to read the lines. I think as long as I can keep the ball on the fairways, I should be fine.
This is my fifth Asian Tour event this season. I am hoping to finish in top-60 on the Order of Merit to secure my card for next year. If not, I will have to go through Qualifying School again. I must say I have gained a lot of experience playing on the Japan Tour this year. It’s not easy playing in Japan because the golf courses are difficult and it was very competitive as well. I guess that experience helped me in my game today as well.

I found some form with the putter which is really helping. Swing wise, I’m hitting it a little better, in fact I’m hitting it really good and giving myself chances. I made some small adjustments in my game earlier in the week and it seems to be working well.
I’m driving the ball great and I haven’t missed too many fairways at all. Early this morning it was very difficult because of the dew. It made the course very long. If you were in the rough it was very difficult to get out of trouble.
I’ve been through a bad run so it is nice to see my name on the leaderboard. I’ve played well in the past and I knew my game would come back. It was just a case of putting it together. Obviously we are only halfway through this tournament. I had other things in my mind like keeping my Asian Tour card.
I did some adjustments in my swing. I watched some videos of my swing and I can see that the changes I made were good because on the bad shots, I went straight back to what I was previously doing.
I tried to keep in a slightly different position and that’s going well for me. I go through my phases. I didn’t really look at my swing videos this week but I knew I had a couple of issues. I’ve had a couple of niggling injuries so I’m trying to swing and not feel those injuries. I think the changes I made are starting to help. This is how I want to swing in the future.
My hip gets a bit tired. It gets very stiff and the way I was swinging put a lot of pressure on my right hip. The pain comes and goes. The physiotherapists on the Asian Tour do a good job but when I go a few weeks without help then I feel shooting pains when I swing.
Rashid Khan (Ind) – Second Round 69 (-3), Total 137 (-7)
It was a good round although I didn’t get off to a good start. I had a bogey on the second hole but recovered with a birdie on the fourth. I dropped another shot on the fifth and birdied sixth. I was just trying to keep my ball in play out there.
I struggled with the putter a little bit as well. I missed a lot of putts but I had a good birdie on the 11th hole where I hit it out from the rough and holed a seven-foot putt. I missed a birdie opportunity on the 14th from the middle of the fairways but I had a very good finish to the round on 17th and 18th.

I was just playing the same golf as I did yesterday. I struggled with the putter a little bit. I will stick to the same game plan for the weekend rounds. I am not going to try anything different. I just have to try and hit as many fairways as I can.
Jason Dufner (Usa) – Second Round 69 (-3), Total 138 (-6)
I struggled with my putter a little bit because of a combination of bad speed. When you can’t judge the speed, you kind of second guess on the greens. A low score is out there if you can keep the ball on the fairways. I need to putt a little bit better.
It was a pretty similar round to my opening day. I started slow but got back under-par after nine holes. I just missed a couple of putts but both days have been similar. I have to stay patient and wait for my chances. I feel like I’m playing pretty good golf. I’m right on the verge of having some really nice days.
I felt pretty good after yesterday’s round. Going out early in the morning is generally easier. I felt like I have a good chance to be in a good position. A 69 is a solid score and now I hope to play well during the weekend.
George Gandranata (Ina) – Second Round 72 (Even par), Total 138 (-6)
I didn’t make as many putts as yesterday. I hit the ball just as well today and I guess that was good enough. A little bit different from yesterday but I am still happy with my two-day total. I’m still up there on the leaderboard. There are still two more days to go. We will see. I will keep to the same game plan for the weekend rounds. My strategy has worked so far so I will stick to that.
