Choi and Singh start well in Canada

July 28: Korea’s K.J. Choi and Vijay Singh of Fiji got off to an encouraging start when they posted a six-under-par 66 at the first round of the RBC Canadian Open held at the Glen Abbey GC on Thursday.
Choi, an honorary member of the Asian Tour and a six-time winner, turned in 35 after marking his front-nine with two birdies.
The Korean nearly closed with a flawless card but bogeyed the eighth to end his round one shot back of the opening round leaders.
Singh, a multiple winner on the PGA Tour, meanwhile enjoyed a flawless round which was highlighted by six birdies.
Over at the Porsche European Open in Germany, young Thai Poom Saksansin and Sweden’s Rikard Karlberg returned  with matching 69s to share 16th place.
Siddikur Rahman of Bangladesh was a further shot back in tied 33rd place after signing for a 70 at the European Tour event.
