Choi battles on with a 75 at US Open

June 16: Korea’s K.J. Choi carded a third round five-over-par 75 to take a share of 44th place at the US Open on Saturday.
The Asian Tour honorary member mixed three bogeys, a triple-bogey and a birdie for a three-day total of 11-over-par 221 at the Merion Golf Club to emerge as the second-best placed Asian after Chinese Taipei’s amateur Pan Cheng-tsung who also signed for a 75 to take tied-31st place.
Four-time Major winner, Phil Mickelson of the United States continued to hold the lead at the year’s second Major by posting a 70 to take a one-shot lead over a trio of players that included countrymen Hunter Mahan, Steve Stricker and South Africa’s Charl Schwartzel.
The American will be making his debut at the CIMB Classic in Malaysia in October.
