May 4: Major Swiss bank, Credit Suisse has extended its partnership with the prestigious Omega European Masters to 2017, officials announced today.
The Omega European Masters is sanctioned by the Asian Tour and European Tour and is the only co-sanctioned event that is held on European soil since 2009.
Thomas Gottstein, Head of Premium Clients Switzerland and Global External Assets Managers at Credit Suisse said, "We are proud to extend our contract with the Omega European Masters and to continue offering this prestigious platform to our clients.”
Yves Mittaz, Tournament Director of the Omega European Masters said, “This sign of confidence is fantastic news. Credit Suisse is a very active partner who is making a big difference to the way the tournament is evolving and whose values of excellence perfectly match those of the Omega European Masters.”
Played at the scenic Crans-sur Sierre Golf Club, the Omega European Masters is the oldest golf championship in continental Europe and will be played from July 23-26 this year.
Last year, Korean-American David Lipsky became the first player from the Asian Tour to win the Swiss showpiece when he defeated England's Graeme Storm at the first play-off hole.
Ends.
