Davies Ready for Second Shot at Glory

Siem Reap, Cambodia, December 10: Wales' Rhys Davies had to endure the heartache of missing out on his maiden title on the Asian Tour when he lost in a play-off to Thailand's Thongchai Jaidee in Vietnam last week.
However, that defeat has given him several positives and with the beckoning of a new week at the US$300,000 Johnnie Walker Cambodia Open, the 23-year-old rookie is ready to launch another assault for his breakthrough win.

It has been a little up and down for me this year. I?ve played well in some tournaments and not so well in others, so I?ve experienced a lot of different things.
I think these various experiences gained throughout the season will be valuable and they will be the ones where I?ll be able to use and build on for the future.
That's really important. I?ve learnt a lot during my rookie year on the Asian Tour and I really enjoy it.
I'm pleased with how I performed in Vietnam (at the Hana Bank Vietnam Masters) and it is nice to know that I've secured my card for the 2009 season.
The play-off defeat was disappointing but there will be more opportunities to come and I hope to take full advantage of them when they do.
There are loads of positives that I can take from last week. I think I played four really good rounds of golf. I shot six-under on the final day without making any bogeys.
Whenever you do that in any tournament, you are going to do well. I played well and I?m looking forward to doing well this week.
It's still early to say what can happen but I hope for the best.
