The game is feeling quite good. I’ve been striking the ball really good in the last two or three months. I’ve made some swing changes and I can see the results because I have good ball control.
There’s no reason in general why I haven’t made as many cuts as I would like to. I’ve been working on my game and I’m dealing with some mental aspects. I didn’t make big swing changes, it was more of working on my basics, the stance and posture. Once I get that in my head then you will start seeing the results.
I was facing a problem with my driver on the right to left holes. That was the motive behind the change. The main principal of golf is to repeat it over and over again. That’s my whole fundamental of golf with my swing. I’m trying to make it easier so I can keep repeating it.

I’ve been practising almost every day for a good three or four months. I’m glad to be back to see familiar faces and back on the Asian Tour again. I’m looking forward to playing until Christmas.
There are always goals. I have a few short and long term goals. It all depends on how you play. For me, patience is important. I need to have some patience and things will come back soon.
Patience has a lot to do with age. This is my ninth year on Tour. I’ve played a lot of golf and the more I play, the more mature I get. This will help me in the long run and staying patient is what I’m trying to do.
This is a beautiful track. It is a proper old school, tree line golf course. It makes you think especially on the tee box. It is not an easy course because the rough is up and the moment you miss the fairway, making par will be a struggle.

It is always good to return to somewhere where you’ve played well before. I got into the mix in the last round. I had an eagle on the 14th hole and that was fun. I had a chance to win but I didn’t quite have enough shots to finish it off. It was cool to be in the mix. Always fun to be in contention.
We got a great run coming up on the Asian Tour. A lot of people are looking forward to a lot of big events. I see a lot of guys excited to be out here.
I like to work my way into the CIMB Classic. Every week you are trying to play good in every tournaments. I would like to finish inside the top-fives and get into the mix more often.
I played some events in Europe and it was okay. I didn’t play tremendously well. I made a big move to Phoenix from Iowa. It has been a lot of chaos. We are getting settled and everyone is happy. I love Iowa but my kids are young and we wanted to move south to get out of the cold and snow.

So far my game is good. I was struggling before my win on the Asian Development Tour (ADT) but I worked hard again and it seems to be coming along nicely.
Usually when I struggle with my golf game, I will play basketball with my friends to take my mind off golf. It is a habit. When I’m in the Philippines I’ll play quite often.
I played well here last year. I finished top-10 so it is nice to be back here. It is nice to be here this week because there are a lot of my old friends playing. I need to boost my rankings on the Japan Golf Tour so this will be a good week to do so. I’ll try my best.

The course is in great shape. On this course, you know exactly where you should or should not hit the ball. It is a very challenging course but I like it here.
I really hope I can play like how I played last year. There are times when I can’t seem to control my shots and putts.
If I hit the ball to where I want it to be then I’m confident that I can walk away with a good score. After a bad shot, if I focus then I’m sure I will play well. My only concern now is that I can’t control my ball.
Ryo Ishikawa (Jpn)
I’ll be lucky if I can score half as well this week because you need a variety of clubs as compared to my win last week. This course has a lot of trees. If I hit my shot into the trees, I will need to be aggressive. I’m now in a slightly better position on the Official World Golf Rankings. If I break into the top-100 then I know I’m playing good golf.
