Scotland, July 16: Australia's Andrew Dodt will head into the final round of the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open in tied first position after he signed for a third round one-under-par 71 on Saturday.
The two-time Asian Tour winner mastered the elements at the Dundonald Links in Troon, Ayrshire remarkably well as he traded three birdies against two bogey to share the lead with England's Ian Poulter and Callum Shinkwin with his three-day total of nine-under-par 193.
Dodt bogeyed seven but recovered quickly on the next with a birdie. A long putt on 11 for another birdie got the Australian to nine-under but he would return the shot immediately on the following 12th hole.
Dodt would however end the day with a share of the lead after a brilliant up and down on 18 saw his finish the round with a birdie.
"It was brutal out there. It was so windy and when we made the turn, it started raining and the winds were blowing sideways and everywhere. I did a good job.
"I hit a few loose shots but I got a bit of luck which I needed for a day like this. I'm glad I'm in a position where I am and hopefully I can go after it tomorrow,"said Dodt
American Paul Peterson meanwhile slipped to a share of 51st place after a 75 while India's Anirban Lahiri posted a 76 to take tied-58th place on 219 total.
