Extensive broadcast for Venetian Macau Open

Macau, October 23: The Venetian Macau Open will enjoy 720 hours coverage across the live, highlights and Asian Tour Golf Show which will reach no fewer than 180 countries and 625 million homes.
For the first time in the tournament’s history, the live broadcast, which begins on Thursday from 1pm to 5pm local time, will be produced in HD to deliver a high quality show for golf viewers to enjoy the best of Asian golf from anywhere around the world.
Macau viewers will also enjoy the live broadcast through domestic broadcaster TDM while China fans will have access to the live broadcast through China Golf Channel and LETV. Hong Kong’s PCCW will air approximately 50 hours of broadcasts.
With Ernie Els being in the field again this year, Supersports in South Africa will be broadcasting the event live throughout four rounds.
The world feed for the live broadcast this week will begin at 1pm to 5pm Macau time on Thursday and Friday while the broadcast will begin at 12 noon till 5pm for the weekend rounds.
Asian Tour Media will subsequently produce a tournament highlights show which will be delivered to broadcasters on Monday after the Venetian Macau Open.
This year’s tournament is offering a record prize fund of US$900,000 and has attracted one of its best ever fields with four-time Major winner Ernie Els, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Thongchai Jaidee and 17 of the top-20 players from the Asian Tour’s current Order of Merit.
American David Lipsky and Anirban Lahiri, the top-two ranked players here, are also in the elite field as with Chinese stars Liang Wen-chong and Zhang Lian-wei, who is a two time Macau Open champion.
