Green is taking it easy ahead of ahead of CIMB CLASSIC

Kuala Lumpur, October 19: Gavin Green of Malaysia is feeling calm and composed ahead of the CIMB Classic after making his PGA TOUR debut last week.

Green will play in the US$7 million event for the first time but he is well prepared for the challenge ahead after playing in the Safeway Open in the United States as an invite.

He did not make the weekend rounds but was able to learn from his experienced caddy Mark Fulcher, who is the caddy of Major champion and Olympic Gold medal winner Justin Rose.

This week, the 22-year-old Green will part ways with Fulcher as his father Gary takes over the role but the advice and experience will be put to good use at the CIMB Classic which is sanctioned by the Asian Tour and PGA TOUR.

“My agency is with Justin Rose and was going to be off for a couple of weeks and my agent asked I if wanted him. It was a no-brainer, because he’s the guy that won an Olympic medal and U.S. Open with Rose,” Green explained.

“It's funny, when things don't go right, he's actually very positive, and that's something that helps me calm down in a way and kind of helps me, kind of help me like don't worry about it, you've still got a lot of holes. Just move on, move on, and he was able to help me move on, which was great,” he added.

Green is delighted to add another feather in his cap by qualifying for the CIMB Classic after winning the SapuraKencana National Classic last month. He also represented Malaysia in the Olympics in August.

“It has been fun. Obviously I would like to make the cut last week but like I said, it is a huge learning curve. It is best to take it slow, you learn move on, instead of just jumping all the way,” said Green.

He will be joined by compatriot Danny can cialis help with performance anxiety Chia who qualified for the CIMB Classic as the highest ranked Malaysian on the Official World Golf Ranking.
