Groom blog: Back in the groove

Taipei, September 12: Adam Groom returns to the Yeangder Tournament Players Championship with high confidence.
He finished tied fourth in the event in 2011 and continued his superb run at the Linkou International Golf and Country Club with an opening round of three-under-par 69.
In this blog, the Australian talks about his round and moving to Perth during the Asian Tour break.

This is my first round after coming back from the break so it is a good start. Hopefully it will be like this for the rest of the year!
I played okay. I was scratchy early on but hung in there. I started hitting the ball better from the fifth hole. I chipped in on eight (12 metres) and that kind of got me going. I finished with six pars but it would have been nice to birdie the last hole.
I was happy to get up-and-down on the eighth hole so it was kind of a bonus to get that birdie because I was in a bad lie. I made only 26 putts and that made a huge difference in my round. I’ve been working a lot on my short game during the break and it showed today.
I like this course. The layout is pretty cool but you have to play well on the greens because it is tricky to read the lines here.
I moved to Sydney to Perth. That was big news for me. My girlfriend, who is a lawyer, got transferred to Perth. We’ve been living there for a while now and I’m slowly getting used to the city and a new place for me to practice.
