Hend finishes tied-eighth in Dubai

February 8: Australia’s Scott Hend, a seven-time Asian Tour winner, closed with a three-under-par 69 to finish tied-eighth at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic on Sunday.
The big-hitting Hend fired two eagles and three birdies against two bogeys and a double-bogey to settle five shots back of winner Danny Willet of England on 14-under-par 274 total at the Emirates Golf Club.
Thai star Kiradech Aphibarnrat battled to a 73 to tie in 61st place on 287 while 2014 Order of Merit champion David Lipsky of the United States finished a further two shot back in tied-63rd following a second consecutive 74.
At the Waste Management Phoenix Open, Asian Tour honorary member K.J. Choi of Korea signed for a closing four-under-par 67 to take a share of 17th place while India’s Anirban Lahiri finished tied-33rd after carding a 69.
