Hend settles for joint 32nd finish in France

July 3: Scott Hend of Australia moved up 17 spots to finish tied-32nd after a final round of two-under-par 69 at the HNA Open de France on Sunday.
Long-hitting Hend, the 2016 Asian Tour Order of Merit champion, started the day in tied-49th  position and closed with five birdies against three bogeys for his best card of the week.
His four-day total of one-over-par 285 saw him finish 13 shots behind winner Tommy Fleetwood of England.
Sweden’s Rikard Karlberg finished tied 45th  after signing for a 75 with 287 total while defending champion Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand carded a 74 to tie for 62nd position on 292.
In the United States, India’s Arjun Atwal, who was in the top-five at the halfway stage, settled for a share of 55th position at the Quicken Loans National after a tough 77 which left him on seven-over-par 287.
American Kyle Stanley beat countryman Charles Howell III in the first hole of a sudden death play-off to lift the title after both men tied on 273.
