Ohio, United States, August 2: Reigning Order of Merit champion Scott Hend started his campaign with an even-par 70 at the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational held at the Firestone Country Club on Thursday.
The 43-year-old Australian, a nine-time winner on the Asian Tour, fired three birdies against three bogeys to trail leader Thomas Pieters of Belgium by five shots in tied-22nd place in what is the third WGC event this season.
Thai star Thongchai Jaidee and South African Shaun Norris came in a further shot back to tie in 33rd position while Jeunghun Wang of Korea and Sam Brazel of Australia were among those bunched in 62nd place following matching rounds of 74s.
Ends.
