February 7: Australia's Scott Hend, a seven-time Asian Tour winner, made his move at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic when he fired a six-under-par 66 to stay within five shots back of English leader Danny Willett on Saturday.
The big-hitting Australian posted rounds of 71 and 68 but enjoyed a much-improved performance when he traded six birdies, an eagle and two bogeys to share sixth place with England's Chris Wood with their matching three-day totals of 11-under-par 205 at the Emirates Golf Club.
Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat enduring a rough day as he returned with a 74 to take a share of 61st place that also featured 2014 Order of Merit champion David Lipsky of the United States.
At the Waste Management Phoenix Open, India’s Anirban Lahiri signed for a 71 to take a share of 39th place together with honorary member K.J. Choi of Korea.
