Lin Wen-tang (Tpe) – Second Round 67 (-4), Total 132 (-10)
I played for five holes and there was no wind. For that early few holes the course was easy but the wind started to pick up. It was crazy windy but I birdied six and eight to finish my round so that was good.
The wind was definitely blowing stronger than yesterday afternoon. I would really like to see what Charlie Wi will shoot later. The wind made it very difficult. I had some putts which I read the line very clearly but the wind blew my ball slightly off track.
I changed my swing earlier this year and now I maintain the same swing even in windy conditions. My game is feeling very good and I’m confident for the weekend.

I’m happy with how I played. The wind was ridiculous. This is probably the strongest wind conditions that we play in all year on the Asian Tour. With the course conditions being open and the greens tricky and fast, it wasn’t easy.
I chipped-up in twice so my good start involved a little bit of luck (laughs). If you hit good shots out there, you get rewarded which is nice. I chipped in on hole two and four from about 25 yards. I’ll take it.
Thaworn Wiratchant (Tha) – Second Round Even par through 13 holes, seven under for tournament in T3 position.
It’s very good for me to be even par through 13 holes. It was very windy. It was like a two to three club difference. On 11, we had 150 yards to the pin and I needed a five iron. Happy with two, on five, chipped it close and then on 13, holed about a five foot putt. Double bogey on four was a par three was against wind. Hit a three iron to the left into the hazard. Five holes to complete. Too much wind, it’s difficult. When I address the putts, the wind is blowing hard and making it unstable for me. Try again tomorrow.
Himmat Rai (Ind) – Second round 69 (-2), Total 137 (-7)
It was very satisfying, I hit the ball well. Although I got out of position a few times, I recovered well. Conditions were tough on the back nine. It was just guess work out there. It was pretty hard. Making pars become tough, especially on the par fives doesn’t happen often. It was sometimes a four club difference. I made nine pars on the back nine which gave me a lot of confidence. Just rolled in a few putts. Two under through nine, I thought if I could finish there, it would be a good day.
Nice to be on leaderboard. I think I’ve got a good strategy for the course and I’m playing the wind well. Just playing percentage golf and it’s been working. There are a few courses where you kind of see them and I’ve got a good game plan for this course. I feel comfortable on the golf course.
Koh Deng Shan (Sin) - one-under through 16 holes, five-under for tournament in T7
Koh Deng Shan of Singapore Koh Deng Shan of Singapore
I played the par-threes well. I knew the back nine would be tough especially when the wind was up. I was playing well before the suspension but I’m looking at it at the positive side because the wind didn’t blow as strong as earlier.
I got a little bit careless when I double bogeyed the 13th hole. I hit my tee shot thin and had a lost ball. It was just one mistake I made all day so I’ll accept that. My back felt a bit better. It was a bit stiff on the first few holes so my caddy is still helping me collect the ball from the cup.
Paul Peterson (Usa) – Second Round 70 (-1), Total 136 (-6)
I feel like I haven’t had a break out here. The score showed yesterday that they had better scoring conditions in the morning so when I woke up this morning, I thought let’s take advantage of the course but I don’t think the wind gave us that opportunity today.
It has been great. I’ve been controlling my putts better. I hit a few lag putts but that’s just what the golf course gave us.
The Asian Tour has been fantastic for me and my growth. It has given me a lot of experience to move my career forward. It is nice to post a nice score and see what I can do during the weekend.
Michael Tran (Vie) – Second Round 76 (+5), Total 142 (E)
I felt very comfortable these two days. I struggled on my back nine but overall I felt comfortable. I had a bad stretch of wind. It was howling and I dropped five shots in four holes. The wind definitely blew harder today compared to yesterday afternoon.
It is very exciting for me to have a tournament in Vietnam. Not only for me but for the other local players as well. This is an eye opener for them to be playing in such a big tournament with so many stars.
If I can put myself back in contention tomorrow then it will be good. If I can’t then I will enjoy playing in the tournament and move on to the next.
