Hung blog: I love Malaysia

September 20: Touring Selangor while enjoying the local delicacies and playing good golf, it is no surprise why Hung Chien-yao of Chinese Taipei loves playing at the Worldwide Holdings Selangor Masters. The talented teenager enjoyed a third round four-under-par 67 but he will need to overcome the tricky par-four 18th hole at the Seri Selangor Golf Club where he is four-over on that hole after three days!
In this blog, he talks about his experience in Malaysia and his second visit in the RM1.3million (approximately US$410,000) Asian Tour event.

I feel happy with my score. I feel really relax when I play on this golf course. I keep telling myself that if the ball goes into the hole then great, but if it doesn’t then it is okay. I played here last year and I finished okay. That was my first year.
I have a local caddie this week and he drives me around and takes me to eat the local food. That’s why I like it here! Malaysia is similar to Taiwan. The weather is always humid so I feel at home.
I returned this morning to finish four holes (resume second round). I didn’t play so good but I went to the driving and told myself that it was just a warm-up round. I didn’t find anything in my game that wasn’t working. I just practised like how I normally do.
I started to make a lot of birdies in the third round but I’m upset with the 18th hole. I made bogey on the first day because of a bad drive. Yesterday, I hit my second shot into the water. It was quite a dumb move because I should have played it safe.
Today, I hit my second shot into the bunker and I told my caddie, “Hey, I don’t think I like this hole!” I tried to chip it out of the bunker and my ball landed into the same bunker again, that was when I realised that I really don’t like playing on this hole!
I made up-and-down and bogeyed the hole so it is still okay. Hopefully I can par that hole tomorrow!
Ends.
