Kuala Lumpur, April 19: Kiradech Aphibarnrat’s title defence at the US$2.75 million Maybank Malaysian Open came to an early end when the Thai withdrew from the third round due to tonsil inflammation on Saturday.
The big-hitting Thai sought treatment in a hospital late last night but was still feeling under the weather after taking an antibiotic injection.
It was a disappointing end in his title defence as the reigning Asian Tour number finished the second round on a two-under-par 142 total to sit in tied 25th place at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club.
Ends.
