In-form Hend heads to US PGA Championship

August 9: An in-form Scott Hend of Australia will spearhead the Asian Tour charge at the US PGA Championship which starts on Thursday.

The reigning Asian Tour number one fired a sparkling 63 in the penultimate round before finishing in a share of 10th place following a final round 73 at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational last week.

Hend, who lives in the United States, will be contending for the year’s final Major championship against the elite field at Quail Hollow Club.

The 2015 Asian Tour number one Anirban Lahiri of India will also feature in the event with the aim of improving on his tied fifth result in 2015.

Other Asian Tour members playing in the year’s final Major tournament include Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee, a three-time Asian Tour number one, K.T. Kim, Jeunghun Wang and Younghan Song.
