In the spotlight: Prom Meesawat

Singapore, August 22: This week, we put Thailand’s Prom Meesawat in the spotlight and take a look at his season so far and what to expect of him when the Asian Tour season resumes in September.
His season so far: Prom, a one-time Asian Tour winenr, has enjoyed a relatively good season so far where he is currently ranked 18th on the Asian Tour Order of Merit with a season’s haul of US$57,322.
He made the halfway cuts for all five Asian Tour events that he participated in and his best result was a tied-ninth place finish at the Queen’s Cup in June just before the season goes into a break.
The 30-year-old Thai also produced outstanding performances at events co-sanctioned with the European Tour when he finished tied-24th and tied-17th respectively at the Maybank Malaysian Open and The Championship at Laguna National in Singapore.
What can we expect from Prom:  Coming off the back of a successful 2013 season where he finished eighth on the Asian Tour Order of Merit, expectations remain high for Prom as he continues to chase for a second title on the region’s premier Tour.
Prom broke into the scene when he claimed his first title in 2006. In 2013, he endured several near-misses when he lost in two play-offs at the Resorts World Manila Masters and Hong Kong Open.
Prom will be taking advantage of the break to work on his game and return with all guns blazing when the season resumes at the Omega European Masters from September 4-7.
He had failed to make the halfway cuts in his last two attempts at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club since 2011.
