Indonesia Open Rd 2-What they said

Read what players have to say after the second round of the US$750,000 Indonesia Open on Friday.
Prom Meesawat (Tha) – Second Round 66 (-6), Total 133 (-9)
I kind of struggled on the first day because the wind was very strong. It was a little bit easier today because I can control the ball better. I started off slowly as I was one-over (started on 10th tee). I didn’t do anything wrongly there but I just couldn’t make birdie putts.
The turning point came when birdied hole two off the green with my wedge (25 feet). From there my confidence came back and I started sinking more birdies.
I’ve forgotten about the Manila defeat already. I’m just concentrating on this week. I finished the play-off in the Philippines and that was it for me.
Thaworn Wiratchant (Tha) – Second Round 64 (-7), Total 134 (-8)
My tee shot was good but I didn’t start off so well. I missed the first two fairways then I kept finding the fairways and I started to hole putts.
The greens were soft and there was no wind so it was much easier playing today compared to the first round. I don’t remember much from my Indonesia Open win in 2005. I know I chipped close to the hole on 18, made par and won (laughs).
I didn’t have long putts or chip in. Nice to see a lot of Thais on the leaderboard, especially Prom who is playing well.
The 15th and 18th holes are difficult. If you miss your tee shot on 15, your ball will end up in the water or bunker. It is a very challenging hole. It is the same as 18.
Thongchai Jaidee (Tha) – Second Round 67 (-4), Total 134 (-8)
I have no complaints with my round. I hit the ball very well and I was putting better. It is a good two round and I have a good chance now. I hit a lot of greens (15) and made a lot of putts. It is better playing in the morning. There’s less wind and I think it will blow harder later in the afternoon.
Nice to see so many Thai players on top of the leaderboard. We would like show that the Thai players are playing well. I really enjoyed my golf game today.
Retief GOOSEN (Rsa) – Second Round 65 (-6), Total 137 (-5)
It’s a lot of work out there. I struggled on my first nine from the 10th but I managed to get into good rhythm after the turn where I got a few birdies.
The greens are easier to putt on today, as compared to yesterday when I played in the afternoon. It got quite windy in the afternoon yesterday and the grass was a bit crusty. It was a little bit smoother this morning. It was nice to make a couple of putts coming in but I’m still four shots off the lead at the moment.
I’m hoping for a good weekend. I’m glad to see my name on the leaderboard today but I would like my name to stay up there for tomorrow and Sunday as well. A lot of guys are playing well today, like Thongchai Jaidee who is playing extremely well. He is putting very well so it’s going to be hard to beat him.
Mardan MAMAT (Sin) – Second Round 69 (-2), Total 137 (-5)
I’m hitting my ball from tee to green very good these two days. I had three holes three putts today. To be able to shoot two under with that kind of putting, I’ve to say I am quite happy with my round. I think I can do better. If I can putt well, my score will be lower. Hopefully I can shoot a lower number tomorrow so that I can get into contention for the final round. The course is in a very good condition and I like the course layout here. I think it all depends on my putting if I want to play well on this course.
