Khalin Joshi (Ind) - First Round 65 (-7)
It is a great start. I’m really happy with the way I started. I’m feeling comfortable even though I know only a win will help me retrain my Tour card for next year. A second place won’t even help me. I only have two more weeks to try and make some
money or get a win.
I felt good last week but my putts didn’t drop. I’m feeling positives after this good start. My strong part of my game is my driver and that has been disappointing me. I’ve been working on it and it has been improving. I just hope my driver and putting hold up this week.

I’ve been talking to Shubhankar (Sharma) and he has been a huge influence to me. He had a great week last week to save his Tour card for next year. I’m so happy for him. He told me to never give up because you never know what will happen until the last moment like what happened to him.
I hope to follow in his footsteps and have one good week to keep my card. Once you’ve saved your card, it is a fantastic feeling because you are playing to win and trying to move higher in your career.
Chinnarat Phadungsil (Tha) - First Round 65 (-7)
My game is coming back and I feel very happy. The course is very tricky this week. It looks easy but it isn’t! It is a short course but it is very tight here.
I hope this will be my lucky week and I can win again to get my Asian Tour card. I lost confidence but I’ve been trying hard to get that win again.
I’ve been thinking a lot. I played good today because I focussed on my game and the shot I want to hit. Previously, I kept thinking about many shots even before I hit so it was very confusing!
Now the plan is simple, think of one shot and commit to that shot. No more thinking about trying different shots!
Hung Chien-yao (Tpe) - First Round 66 (-6)
I’m happy with the result. To me and a lot of the players, this is not a very difficult golf course but I won’t say it is an easy course because there are tough holes out there. I played with two Thai players and they told me that I missed a few good birdie putts so the round could have been lower.
My caddy (Chen Ming-chuan) this week is my coach and he is like my older brother. He has given me a lot of good confidence. He sees the line really good and he is also a professional golfer. I played well last week and it is also thanks to him.

I didn’t play too well in the first six months and I didn’t make enough money to keep my card until last week. I’ve been working really hard to try and fight back. After last week, I’m pretty sure I can keep my card.
Sukree Othman (Mas) – First Round 67 (-5)
It was a good effort. My driving my iron shots were consistent. I hit a lot of greens but I struggled with the putting. I missed a few makeable birdies so it could have been a better round but I’m happy with a 67.
The season has been slow for me. I’ve been struggling with my swing and short game. It seems like my game is slowly coming back so I’m hopeful. This course looks like my former home course in Malaysia. That’s one reason why I played well.
Almay Rayhan Yaqutah (A) (Ina) – First Round 68 (-4)
I played very well and missed some short putts. I really had fun today. This is a very good experience for me to play in an Asian Tour event. I’m feeling very happy and excited but after I look at the score, I’m shaking a bit. Shooting a 68 in an Asian Tour event is quite impressive!
Ben Leong (Mas) – First Round 68 (-4)
You have to shoot at least two-under here to be competing. I didn’t hit the ball real good but I was able to putt my way out of trouble. That’s golf I suppose. You might not hit the ball good but if you putt well then it turns out to be a good round.
The main key is to stay in the present. I hit two good shots and missed a short birdie putt (10th hole), then I hit two so, so shots and holed a 30-foot birdie putt (11th hole). Lately I’ve been telling myself that it doesn’t matter if you had one bad hole, you can still make up for it.
You can score here. The fairways are in good conditions and the greens are rolling quite nicely as well.
