My first impression of Dubai is very good, and I really like this country. The first impression that visitors get when they arrive is of the airport which is really cool.
They’ve also got the best hotel in the world and the tallest building in the world as well which is really impressive.
The Els Club Dubai is amazing, it’s certainly one of the best courses I’ve played in my life. And I dare say that it’s one of the best on the Asian Tour too as the condition is fantastic.
The contrast between the fairways and desert is interesting. The key here this week is that you will need to hit good iron shots and it’ll be a good test.
There is not much rough out on the course unlike last week but the greens are quite sloppy which will make it interesting for the players.
This week is my last chance to win this season. I’ve had a good start at the beginning of the year but it’s not been great in the back end of the season as I’ve not had any top-fives.
I’ve made changes in my golf swing this year and it’s still a work in progress. I need to get used to it and hopefully I can swing freely with it.
I need to putt well this week. Anybody who wants to win the Dubai Open needs to hit their irons good and putt well. That will be the goal for me this week.
