Kang and Kim share lead at Springfield

Hua Hin, Thailand, February 5: Alex Kang of the United States and Korea’s Kim Taeksoo-kyung opened their campaigns at the Asian Tour Qualifying School First Stage Section B with matching six-under-par 65s on Wednesday.
They lead by one shot over Peter Vejgaard of Denmark at the Springfield Royal Country Club.
Thailand’s Nattapong Putta posted a 67 for fourth place while Chan Shih-chang of Chinese Taipei, Englishman Daanyal Spalding, Park Jin-woo of Korea, Sejun Yoon of the United States and Tawit Polthai of Thailand were a further shot back in tied fifth.
At the Royal Thai Army Sports Center, Craig Hancock of Australia carded a five-under-par 67 to take a two-shot lead over Thailand’s Smithti Teeratrakul.
Meanwhile, Jacobo Pastor of Spain stole the limelight at the Imperial Lakeview Golf Club when he shot a seven-under-par 65.
Josh Persons of the United States, Seb Gros of France and Mikael Salminen of Finland trail the leader by two shots after returning with 67s.
