Munich, Germany, June 24: Two-time Asian Tour winner Rikard Karlberg of Sweden signed for a second round three-under-par 69 to stay one shot off the pace at the halfway stage of the BMW International Open on Friday.
Karlberg, who opened his campaign with a 67, fired one eagle and four birdies against three bogeys to trail leading duo Joakim Lagergren and Joel Stalter in tied-third place on eight-under-par 136 total at the Golfclub München Eichenried.
He matched the two-day efforts of four other players, including the likes of Masters champion Sergio Garcia and Henrik Stenson, who returned with rounds of 70 and 69 respectively at the BMW International Open.
Overnight leader Wade Ormsby of Australia slipped three shots off the pace to tied-11th following a 74 while India’s Shiv Kapur, who is playing on a sponsor’s invite, carded a 72 to sit in tied-18th on 139.
2017 Asian Tour Qualifying School winner Richard Green of Australia posted a 71 to sit a further shot back in tied-23rd place alongside a host of players, including current Order of Merit leader David Lipsky of the United States, who returned with a 69.

Thai star Kiradech Aphibarnrat slipped with a 74 to tied-32nd place while Asian Tour International Ambassador and Honorary member Ernie Els and South African Jbe Kruger carded rounds of 71 and 70 respectively to safely make the halfway cut set at one-under-par 143.
Over at the Travelers Championship in the United States, 2015 Asian Tour Order of Merit champion and Indian star Anirban Lahiri fired a sizzling seven-under-par 63 to trail by four shots in tied-17th position at the TPC River Highlands.
