Kim wins 12th title in Japan

May 3: Korea’s K.T. Kim won his second title in Japan in 2016 when he defeated Daisuke Kataoka in a play-off at The Crowns on Sunday.
Kim, ranked 10th on the Asian Tour Order of Merit and a member of Team Asia in the EurAsia Cup earlier this year, fired a three-under-par 67 to tie with Kataoka on 10-under-par 270 before winning in extra time.
The victory was Kim’s 12th career title in Japan which came after he finished tied second at the Panasonic Open Golf Championship last week.
In China, Scott Hend of Australia finished in sixth place following a 64 to finish five shots from the champion Li Haotong, who won the event with a 266 total.
Order of Merit champion David Lipsky of the United States ended his campaign a further shot back in tied ninth place on 272.
