Yeoju, Gyeonggi-do, Korea, October 13: Current Asian Tour number one Kiradech Aphibarnrat stayed in contention at the CJ Invitational Hosted by KJ Choi despite missing two birdie putts when he returned to complete the third round on Sunday.
The talented Thai ended the penultimate round on even-par 72 to trail the leader Kang Sung-hoon, who shot a 69, by three shots at the majestic Haesley Nine Bridges Golf Club on the outskirts of Seoul.
Rikard Karlberg, a two-time Asian Tour winner, finished his round in near darkness on Saturday on 71 to trail by two shots at the US$750,000 event which is staged on the region’s premier Tour for the third consecutive year.
“I’m a bit disappointed not to birdie the 17th and 18th holes but it is okay. I have another very important 18 holes to play and I’ll need to focus and hopefully play well enough to win,” said Kiradech.
