June 24: Current Asian Tour Order of Merit leader Kiradech Aphibarnrat of Thailand continued his preparations well for next month’s Open Championship when he finished tied-second at the Japan Golf Tour Championship at the Shishido Hills Golf Club.
The 23-year-old battled to a two-under-par 70 to end his campaign, one shot behind Japanese winner Satoshi Kodaira
Kiradech, who will be making his maiden appearance at The Open Championship after he won the International Final Qualifying – Asia on home soil in March, marked his card with one eagle, three birdies and three bogeys to closed with a four-day total of 13-under-par275 alongside Korea’s S.K. Ho.
The Thai's early season success has also seen him notched three top-five finishes and a win on the region’s premier Tour, which is celebrating its 10 season in 2013.
At the BMW International Open in Munich, Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee posted a 72 to take a share of 41st place on 281 total while India’s Shiv Kapur signed for a 71 to finish in tied-53rd place.
