August 5: Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat closed his campaign at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational with five-over-par 75 to finish tied-40th on Sunday.
The Thai ace, who currently leads the Asian Tour Order of Merit, hauled himself into contention at the halfway stage by moving inside the top-10 after opening with 69 and 68 in the first two rounds.
However scores of 73 and 75 over the weekend saw him sign off his maiden debut at Firestone Country Club in Akron with a four-day total of five-over-par 285.
Newly accepted Asian Tour honorary member Ernie Els signed for a 74 to take a share of 48th place while former Asian Tour winner Bae Sang-moon of Korea finished tied 53rd on 288.
World number one Tiger Woods posted a 70 that included one birdie, one bogey and 16 pars to win his eighth Bridgestone title by seven shots.
At the Reno-Tahoe Open on the PGA Tour, 2008 Asian Tour Order of Merit winner, Noh Seung-yul of Korea collected 31 points in the modified stableford tournament to finish tied-seventh while compatriot Charlie Wi took a share of 11th place with 28 points.
