April 8: Former Asian Tour number one Seungyul Noh and Sangmoon Bae, who represent the new generation of Korean golf stars, plan to shine at The Masters Tournament which starts on Thursday.
The 2010 Order of Merit winner Noh earned the opportunity to make his debut at Augusta National Golf Club after winning his first PGA Tour title at the Zurich Classic last year.
He hopes to make the most of his first appearance where he will hunt for glory alongside three-time Asian Tour number one Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand and Anirban Lahiri of India.
Major winners and Asian Tour honorary members Vijay Singh of Fiji and Ernie Els of South Africa will also feature at Augusta.
Noh is determined to put on a strong showing in the absence of Asia’s first Major winner Y.E. Yang and K.J. Choi, who will not feature in the prestigious event for the first time in 12 years.
The 23-year-old is grouped with Scotsmen Sandy Lyle and Bradley Neil while Bae, a three-time Asian Tour winner, will have Charl Schwartzel of South Africa and Joost Luiten of Netherlands for company.
Ends.
